How much egg white to eat everyday with Chronic Kidney Disease?

Egg white is good for Chronic Kidney Disease patients, but patients need to limit the amount of it due to impaired kidney function. Proteinuria is a symptom of kidney damages and aggravated when patients ingest too much protein. For this reason, a low protein diet is necessary for kidney disease patients.

For Chronic Kidney Disease patients, how much egg white they can eat everyday depends on their specific illness condition. Usually, 0.6grams of protein per kilogram of body weight is needed per day for patients with kidney disease in stage 3 and 0.4grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day is needed for patients with stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease. For stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease patients, if they have started dialysis, they need to ingest more protein and 1.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day is suggested. However, if they have not started dialysis, 0.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day is ok.

Lastly, egg white is good for Chronic Kidney Disease patients, but it is not the only source of high quality protein. Aside from egg white, kidney disease patients can also ingest high quality protein from lean meat, milk and fish and so son.
