Lymph Cell Subgroup

2012-12-16 15:46

Lymph cell subgroup is an important indicator reflecting functions of cellular and humoral immunities. Monitoring of immune functions is necessary for assessing immune status after kidney transplant and of autoimmune kidney diseases, deciding when to prescribe immunosuppressant treatment and the dosage of medicines. Overall it reflects the body's current immune function and equilibrium level. It also plays important role in diagnosing some diseases such as autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiency disease, malignant tumor, blood diseases and allergic diseases as well as analyzing pathogenesis, observing curative effects and predicting prognosis.

The items of lymph cell subgroup and their medical significances:

CD4 is a sign of helper T cells. The decrease of CD4 lymphocyte is usually found in malignant tumor, hereditary immunodeficiency disease, AIDS and patients that are taking immunosuppressant.

CD8 is a sign of weak T cells. The increase of CD8 lymphocyte is usually found in autoimmune diseases such as SLE, early stage AIDS, chronic active hepatitis, tumor and virus infections, etc.

CD4/CD8>2.5 indicates cellular immune function is extremely active and it is easy to have autoimmune reactions and it is found in rheumatoid arthritis, type 1 diabetes, etc.

CD4/CD8<1.4 is called immunosuppression and it is often found in immune deficiency diseases, malignant tumors, aplastic anemia, leukemia and some virus infections, etc.

CD4/CD8<1 is called inversion and it is obvious abnormality.

If CD4/CD8 has obvious increase after kidney transplant, there might be rejections.

Lymphocyte B

B cells can differentiate into plasma cells to produce antibodies and present antigens to helper T cells and participate in immune regulation.

NK cells

Natural Killer cells can kill tumors and virus-infected target cells. It plays important role in immune surveillance and early anti-infection treatment.

Cydosporine blood concentration monitoring

It is important indicator for safety use of medicines.

<200ug/L indicates medicine inadequacy

>400ug/L will easily cause toxic or side effects

It indicates inhalation of allergens or being allergic to certain foods. It can help diagnose allergic diseases.
