What Kinds Of Diet Should Be Followed By Children Of Renal Failure

2018-09-22 09:54

Renal Failure,Children,DietThe treatment of chronic tight failure in children should be monitored in clinical (physical examination and blood pressure) and laboratory tests including heme, electrolytes (hyponatremia, hyperkalemia, acidosis), blood urea nitrogen and creatinine, calcium and phosphorus levels and alkaline phosphatase activity.

Regular check parathyroid endocrine level and bone X ray for early detection of bone dystrophy. Chest radiography and echocardiography may help to understand cardiac function. Nutritional status can be monitored regularly by serum albumin, zinc, iron transformation, folic acid and iron levels.

Chronic renal failure diet when children glomerular filtration to less than 50% of the normal, children's growth rate decreased, the main reason for inadequate intake of calories. Although we do not know what the appropriate calorie intake is for renal insufficiency, we should try to make the calorie intake equal or higher than the age group of the child. Unrestricted carbohydrates can be used to increase calorie intake in the diet such as sugar, jam, beehives, glucose polymers, and fats such as medium-chain triglycerides, but should be tolerated by the patient.

Nausea, vomiting and anorexia can be used when urea nitrogen is higher than 30mmol/L (80mg/dl), which can be relieved by limiting protein intake.

Because children still need a certain amount of protein to grow in renal failure, they should be given protein 1.5g / (kg d) and high-quality protein (eggs and lean meat) such as eggs and milk, followed by meat, fish, chickens and poultry. Milk contains too much phosphorus and is not suitable for use. It must be supplemented with glucose and peanut oil.

Due to inadequate intake or loss of dialysis, children with renal insufficiency, may be water-soluble vitamin deficiency, should be routinely supplemented. If there are trace elements such as iron, zinc deficiency should also be supplied, fat-soluble vitamins such as A, E, K need not be supplemented.
