Actually this is not correct. Proper and regular exercises can help control body weight, lower high blood pressure and high blood sugar, intensify the functions of the kidneys, heart, lung and enhance immunity. So if patients are in clinical remission period, some gentle exercises are highly recommended such as yoga, tai chi, qi gong, etc.

Practicing asanas of yoga has a lot of benefits to various diseases and illness conditions such as back pain, headache, joint pain, insomnia, digestive disorders, hair loss, etc. Here we mainly focus on its benefits to kidney failure patients.

Asanas can regulate internal environment, promote endocrine functions, improve blood circulation so as to increase blood flow to the kidneys. Renal ischemia and hypoxia will be relieved and renal tissues can get adequate supply of blood, oxygen and necessary nutritions.

For patients that have been on dialysis or those that are very weak, some slow-paced asanas are recommended. There are many gentle postures and movements in yoga and that is why it is considered to be a suitable exercise for kidney failure patients.
