Diagnosis: Hypertensive Renal Damage, Chronic Renal Failure, Hyperlipidemia

15 years ago, he went to the local hospital due to headache and blurred vision. And he was detected with stage 3 high blood pressure(220/100mmHg), urine protein show negative. At that time, the doctors suggested him to take 50mg losartan potassium once a day, 25mg carvedilol tablets twice a day, 10mg nifedipine twice a day. After a while, blood pressure was controlled around 170/90mmHg, and headache have been alleviated.

5 months ago, he suffered from headache and frequent urination(3-4times every night and urine volume 1000ml). And the test report showed blood pressure 200/100mmHg, urine protein ++, 24-hour urinary protein quantity 0.8g, hemoglobin 10g/dL, serum creatinine 3.3mg/dL, BUN 58mg/dL, uric acid 5.5mg/dL, total cholesterol 315mg/dL, LDL 210mg/dL, triglyceride 207mg/dL.

He was diagnosed as hypertensive renal damage, chronic renal failure and hyperlipidemia. And the doctors recommend him to undergo dialysis or a kidney transplant, but he declined.

To seek for further treatment, he came to our hospital. And the test report show blood pressure 150/90mmHg, moderate pitting edema in lower limbs.

Blood routine examination:red blood cells count 3.63×1012/L, hemoglobin 108g/L.

Routine urine test:protein ++, occult blood +-.

Blood biochemistry: creatinine 288umol/L, urea nitrogen 16.7mmol/L, uric acid 376umol/L, potassium 3.22mmol/L, triglyceride 2.31mmol/L, LDL-C 2.90mmol/L.

By taking a number of systematic treatments like hot compress therapy, medicated bath, foot bath, moxibustion, etc, his blood pressure is controlled within 120/80mmHg and swelling disappeared.

And his review test report show:

Blood routine examination: red blood cells count 3.99×1012/L, hemoglobin 119g/L.

Routine urine test: protein ++, occult blood-.

Electrolyte: potassium 3.43mmol/L.

Kidney function test: creatinine 237umol/L, urea nitrogen 11.6mmol/L, uric acid 346umol/L, triglyceride 1.95mmol/L, LDL-C 2.90mmol/L.
