What happens if you go into kidney failure? Kidney failure is an uncurable disease with tons of terrible complications and always used to describe the ultimate consequence of both chronic kidney disease and acute kidney disease. In many cases of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), sufferers have no symptoms until the disease develops to end stage kidney failure. Well then, what happens when patients go into kidney failure?

1. Elevated blood pressure: kidney has function to adjust blood pressure, and once kidney function is impaired, blood pressure increases. High blood pressure is a common symptom of kidney failure.

2. Swelling: as kidneys fail to work properly, fluid retention may occur. With swelling symptom, kidney failure patients need to limit fluid intake strictly.

3. Urine change: Normal urine output is about 1500 milliliter with yellow color. However, for a kidney failure patient, his urine output may decrease or increase with bubbles in it. Sometimes. They may also found their color are red, dark orange or tea-colored. All these urine changes can be caused by decreased kidney function.

4. Gastrointestinal problems: when kidney disease develops to kidney failure stage, various gastrointestinal problems like poor appetite, nausea, vomit and gastrointestinal bleeding occur easily.

5. Skin problem: common skin problems in kidney failure include dry skin, dark sin and itching skin.

6. Electrolyte disturbance: kidneys are responsible for keeping electrolyte balance and once kidneys lose their working ability, electrolyte imbalance occurs. Generally speaking, kidney failure patients are at high risk to suffer from high sodium level, high potassium, high phosphorus and low calcium level.

7. Bone problem: Bone pain and bone fracture occurs easily among kidney failure patients.

8. Others: bad taste in mouth, coma, diarrhea, muscle cramps and so on.

Kidney plays an important role in a normal life. Once kidney failure is caused, the above symptoms will occur gradually. All of them are caused by decreased kidney function, so improving kidney condition is the root solution for remitting kidney failure symptoms.
