Common Symptoms of Chronic Renal Failure

Chronic renal failure (CRF) or Chronic kidney failure or is that kidney function has been decreased gradually over a period of months or years. Kidney is a very important organ in our body, and normally we have two kidneys. Kidney can filter out waste products and excessive water in the blood, and keep the balance of electrolyte and acid-base. Also, it secretes hormones and regulates blood pressure. Chronic kidney failure is divided 5 stages according to the glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Chronic kidney failure can cause various symptoms and with illness condition in different stage, patients may experience different symptoms. Patients with CRF should notice these symptoms and take measures as soon as possible, so as to avoid unnecessary health problems. As follows, there are some main symptoms:

Urine changes: The most common urine changes for Chronic Renal Failure patients include frequent urination at night, oliguria, anuria, colorless urine, blood urine and foamy urine and so on.

Respiratory system symptoms: much fluid in the body and acidosis can cause shortness of breath, asthma, deep breath and so on. In addition, some patients may also have metabolic taste in mouth.

Digestive problems: For CRF patients, the most common digestive problems are poor appetite, nausea and vomiting. If this condition can not be treated effectively, patients may also vomit blood.

Bone problems: Chronic renal failure patients may also suffer from some bone problems like bone pain, bone fracture, osteoporosis, osteomalacia, osteitis, and fibrosa cystica and so on.

Skin problems: Skin problem may also be caused by chronic renal failure and they are itching skin, dry skin and dark skin and yellow skin.

Cardiovascular symptoms: its symptoms include hypertension, heart failure, pericardial effusion and atherosclerosis, etc.

Nervous system symptoms: Chronic kidney failure may also result in memory loss, headache, insomnia, coma, difficulty in concentration and so on.

Others: Aside from the above symptoms, there are some other discomforts like fluid retention, weakness and sweating and so on.

Due to the difference of illness condition, Chronic Renal Failure patients may experience different symptoms. For example, if your kidney failure is in early stage, you may experience no obvious discomforts, but if your kidney failure is in stage 5, you will have many above-mentioned symptoms.
