Natural Treatments for High Blood Pressure in Kidney Failure

2012-12-19 14:47

High blood pressure is one typical symptom of kidney failure. Renal hypertensive constitutes one major part of secondary hypertension and it is elevated blood pressure due to impairments of renal vascular and renal parenchyma.

With continuous development of medical researches, it has been found that renal hypertension has close relation with renal fibrosis and decline of renal functions. In the process of renal fibrosis, renal damages will become more and more severe with the stimulation of inflammatory factors and cytokines resulting in inadequate blood and oxygen supply to the kidneys. As a result, kidneys will secrete more renin and cause hemodynamic changes---slowing down blood flow, causing high-perfusion in the kidneys and increasing blood pressure.

High blood pressure will in turn promote glomerular sclerosis and fibrosis of renal tubules and renal interstitial and patients will fall into a vicious circle if not treated properly.

The key point for lowering high blood pressure is to reverse renal fibrosis and improve ischemia and hypoxia in the kidneys. In this regard, Chinese medicines are good choice which is effective and natural. Chinese medicines take effects on lowering high blood pressure in kidney failure in the following aspects. What is more important, it will not cause additional traumas or injuries to the kidneys.

1. Renal vascular dilation. The Chinese medicines are not only oral intake but also external application on the patients’ renal areas. After the active ingredient penetrates into the kidneys, it can dilate all levels of renal arteries and improve high pressure and high perfusion in the kidneys.

2. Anti-inflammation. It can inhibit the activity of inflammatory factors so as to block renal fibrosis from the root and protect renal intrinsic cells.

3. Anti-coagulation. High blood pressure in the kidneys can cause microcirculatory disturbance and formation of microthrombus which will further worsen renal damages and renal fibrosis.

4. Degradation of extracellular matrix. The degradation of extracellular matrix is key for reversing renal damages and blocking renal fibrosis.
